Beauty in Bloom by Rachael Jordan

Read Time: 3 minutes

My name is Rachael. I am a licensed Esthetician, business owner, and proud mom! Through my services, I want to inspire you to feel beautiful and, above all, help you step into your true beauty. I am co-owner of White Dove Spa in the quiet historical borough of West Elizabeth, Pa. I have thoroughly enjoyed my career path as an Esthetician and makeup artist, but it was never a dream of mine to have my own business.

COVID-19 Changed Everything

COVID-19 hits….. and suddenly the beauty industry and my career were hit HARD. For obvious reasons due to the way COVID was transmitted, I quickly became unemployed. It was then I began to think about a new foundation upon which to build my life and career for my future. The optimism became the possibility of a homebase business and so I filed for the business platform of an LLC.

Through the troubling trials of being unemployed, missing my clients, and wondering what was next, I returned to work temporarily until trouble struck again, and this time my job came to an end abruptly and permanently in December 2022. It was absolutely devastating. I pressed into my values and core principles and began praying myself into a new season. Although the uncertainty of my career, then, had me doubting myself, I remain focused on the life quote I heard all my life, “Bloom where you’re planted.” This is a proverbial saying that encourages people to make the most of their current situation and to find JOY in it.

This matched with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I was able to rise above the circumstances. I knew that I would need to depend on God to decide to finally apply the LLC, to an established brick and mortar foundation.

A Business is Born

White Dove Spa 🕊️ was born, and we are proudly entering our third year of business!

What I can tell you is the battle in my heart and head wasn’t easy. Taking a leap of faith just starting a business in the first place, without any knowledge or wisdom on how to make it run other than the gifts that I was given to love serving clients in a mighty way through skincare.

But the bigger role was saying “YES” to the Lord when he revealed to Nikki (my best friend & co-owner) and I that it was time to enter a new season. Time, for me, in this journey has shown me, that I am not in control of the business, HE is. And all the worry, and insecurity, God opened the right door and I knew it was the right path. I now know God has me, Nikki, and all of White Dove safely in His will. Although we know each day as small business owners isn’t a promised future, even in the hardships we continue to focus on the present. Thanking God for the support from our amazing clients, retail clients, and gift card purchasers who have carried us.

“Bloom where you’re planted” has taken on many rules throughout my life journey, personally and professionally, but one thing stands unwavering… I care about people, encouraging their happiness and the health of their skin, and building a safe environment for much more self-care than just the surface of their skin.

My clients can trust I am attentive and invested in their well-being, and will never waver on providing an exquisite experience beyond self-care, each time, and with every ounce of my conscious effort. I continue to reach high and look forward to always growing and flourishing with God‘s wisdom in spite of any and all circumstances. After all, this is an area where I’m well-trained, to Blossom 🌸 and then Thrive 🙌!
